That’s News To Me was a group project by the entirety of the Media and Broadcast Production class of 2025. It was a huge project in which we created a 50-minute-long, live TV show. Our focus was to showcase upcoming events and news stories in Belfast. Stories included: Belfast’s rap trio Kneecap’s new movie, the growing soul and jazz music scene, Casement Park’s refurbishment, Stormont’s education funding plan and the emerging digital and technology scene!

My main role during the project was as one of the show’s presenters. I was responsible for guiding the flow of the programme, keeping viewers engaged, and working closely with the rest of the production team to ensure everything ran smoothly.

This experience strengthened my confidence, adaptability, and management skills under pressure. Throughout the module, I developed strong on-camera presenting skills and learned first-hand how the cogs of live broadcasting operate.

This is one of my favourite pieces of work I have been able to create. I will cherish the lessons, laughs and loyalty our class developed and strengthened throughout the project.
